I have been very happy with the balusters that I ordered and the delivery service has ben great. The only thing is the shipping charges. I only needed a few more balusters to finish my project, so I ordered 10 more at $2.00 each and with a shipping charge of $30.00…it cost more to ship than the cost of the balusters. I can understand the shipping cost for ordering 50 or 100 but 10?

I used the matte black 42″ round baluster with my Trex Transcend railing system. It matches the Trex balusters perfectly and using the drink rail configuration I got to the code-complaint 48″ height for a pool divider. Really happy with the balusters that were an exact match!

We are building a pool deck and bought these trying to match the Trex Transcend balusters that we already had. (Trex doesn’t make the length needed to meet safety codes). These spindles were perfect for the railing for our new deck and the price was even better! My only complaint is the shipping box arrived to us in rough shape. Large holes and rips. Not the sellers fault, as they can’t control how the postal service handles it. I would just use a heavier duty box or tape next time. I stumbled across this website after searching for balusters. The big box stores were crazy priced. I searched amazon and ebay with similar results. It was almost half the cost ordering from here. Shipping was super fast (and free). I ordered Saturday afternoon and arrived on Wednesday. Two balusters were bent but I ordered extra so no big deal. Besides, saving 40% doesn’t leave much room for complaints! I would order again in a heartbeat. Great prices, fast shipping. Period. I did get the “bronze” but was gray which I knew and saw from the pictures and other reviews. I’m just pointing that out for others. You can buy wooden balusters that look awful and warp, or spend the extra dollar and get these that will transform your deck into something very nice.

The spindles arrived very quickly and in great shape. The box was pretty beaten up, but the contents were fine. We installed them just a few days after they arrived, using the connectors sold on this web site. Overall, everything went very well. We discovered that a ratchet strap helped hold the sections together and then allowed us to get them nice and tight. We did have one spindle that was a fraction short, and one that was just a little too small in diameter. But we had ordered a few extras, so no problem. I would definitely order from here again. Glad I found them, as they saved me some serious cash.

Designed my deck around being able to use the 26″ (and therefore least expensive) spindles, which saved me about 30% versus any other option. I had a few packs of spindles from one of the big-box stores; by comparison the Deck Barn spindles are thicker walled material. Appears tubing material is powder-coated as longer pieces and then cut to length, so “cut ends” of spindles are raw aluminum – cuts are clean and burr-free and install easily using the plastic connectors. Order was received 48 hours after it was placed – all pieces intact and undamaged. Great experience all around.

Refurbishing my old deck and was looking for reasonably priced project. These were lowest cost balusters I could find. Also ordered the corresponding connectors. First off, free shipping was extremely faster than expected. Ordered on Saturday and arrived on Tuesday, wow. Box was a little beat up but the balluster were nicely wrapped in 20 piece bundles. His helped with installation also. I ordered glossy black. Very satisfied with the quality. They were perfect. The plastic connectors with screws included were also the least expensive I could find and quality was great. Everything fit together well. I may have read some comment about variable length but mine were perfect. The fit was great. The parallel mounting 2x4s is where there are small variations. I found with the connectors that they would spread a bit more with how much torque on the screw. This made for tight fit. I preferred to assemble each section living flat on the deck. Then tighten with some ratcheting straps. Finish by standing up and using rubber mallet across the top to finish. This forced the top and bottom to be parallel and the ballusters to be vertically true. Overall very happy with product, price shipping and installation.

All the spindles were flawless (160), shipping was fast. One thing to be aware of though, the spindles are just a hair over 3/4″ diameter… I’d say by about 1/64th. So if using a Forstner bit of 3/4″, the spindle will have a hard time going in.
The trick is to drill straight to depth, then re-drill the hole at about 5 to 10 degrees off plumb. Works perfect, allows for a tight wiggle free fit.
I installed the top rail first, bored the spindle holes 1-1/4″ deep, then installed the bottom rail with spindle clips to 25 1/2″… simply push spindles up into hole, then pull down onto the clips. This allows for single spindle removal if one gets bent or damaged by my block headed Labrador or drunk party guests.
Also allows for decorative spindle pattern to be changed at will.
The best deal in spindles I could find anywhere!

I used these black aluminum spindles and the plastic connectors to replace wood spindles on my older deck. With minor altering, I had to cut them off a little shorter, I was able to install them without removing all the horizontal rails. they work great and gave my deck a whole new look.
Also purchased and used the placement guide. When I ordered it, it seemed a little expensive. After using it, it worked out so well I now feel it was worth twice what it cost. Saved a lot of time and made the finished install look really good.

I used these spindles on 2 decks, one 16′ by 30′ and one 12′ by 8′ deck. They look wonderful all my neighbors have commented on how good the railings look using these. I wanted something that wouldn’t hide the view of the pond thru the railings and these work great. It takes a little bit to get them installed but the effort is worth it. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to put in a really stunning deck.

My husband has been building a redwood deck on our home and the ballisters were the finishing touch. They are good quality, and easy for at least two to put together. The only drawback was the color. The off-white color is beige, but I wasn’t too surprised since I did talk to the CSR and she told me the online color was true. In the end, what mattered more than anything to me was this product is made in America. I can live with beige.

The round balusters arrived well packed and in good condition. Upon starting to install them I noticed that a good portion of the 90+ that I ordered were slightly larger than 3/4″ around. They did not fit in a 3/4 drilled hole like the sample I was sent. I’m now waiting for some oversized drill bits that I was not expecting to need.

The 32″ x 3/4″ Black Aluminum Spindles are reasonably priced, and work very well when installing. The paint is think enough to where if they get clanked around, there is very little scratch showing. The reason I like the black so much is that they clean up well with a Sharpie marker. We continue to order this product from “The Deck Barn” on a regular basis.
