Toe nail or toe screwing the 2×4 to the 4×4 post is against code and an amateurish way to attempt carpentry. These connectors create a clean, and easy installation. the wood railing connectors are sold in a 2 ct Pack not 4pack, 4 is what is needed to complete a rail section.. but are also available in a 200 pack for a lower cost. Due to shipping.
Dextrusion Railing Connectors are used for 2×4 railing to 4×4 post connections. The railing brackets are pre-drilled for accurate attachment of the actual 1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ solid railings to posts. Each bracket includes screws.
